LTU finder

Computer Forensics - With ever increasing volumes of digital image and video data, how do you quickly find the visual evidence that is relevant to your investigation? LTU finder enables advanced image and video search in computer forensic investigations using Guidance Software's EnCase® . Hash sets only identify exact matches of images and videos. LTU finder analyzes the visual features in the image or video to assess its actual visual content.

Image Matching
LTU finder uses LTU "image DNA" to identify duplicate and modified images. Instead of using a hash code, which will only identify exact matches, the image DNA will identify matches as well as modified versions of an image. Using image DNA, LTU finder will find matches to images that have undergone common manipulations such as resizing, color changes, file type changes, the addition of text or slight crops and rotations.
LTU finder can search for image matches from a set of local reference images, or from a dataset generated by another LTU finder user or by LTU engine.

Image and Video Classification
LTU finder can classify some of the images and videos found within EnCase. For example, LTU finder highlights those folders which contain pornography, images of scanned documents, and images which contain faces.
This technology works by comparing images against an image profile which defines a category of images. For example, LTU's pornography profile has been trained on more than 30K pornographic images.

Architecture
LTU finder is comprised of an EnPack and a license-protected library that are installed on your EnCase investigation machine.
